Causes and symptoms of pink eye

Bacterial Conjunctivitis is caused by certain bacteria that have made their way to the eye. Here are the pink eye symptoms:
• Swollen, red eyelids.
• More tearing than usual.
• Feeling as if something is in the eye (foreign-body sensation or keratoconjunctivitis).
• An itching or burning feeling.
• Mild sensitivity to light (photophobia).
• Drainage from the eye.
Washing your hands frequently will support the removal of many possible allergic agents or bacteria from getting into the eyes. Not sharing towels, washcloths, napkins, and other wiping items will minimize pink eye outbreaks. Pink eye and the associated irritation often feels as if something is in the eye, particularly as the eye waters to remove a perceived foreign object. This is known in medical lingo as keratoconjunctivitis.
